Brandon Bush appropriately discovered the Alt/Roots and Texas Country Music scene sitting on a tailgate at a pasture party.  That night he heard Pat Green and Reckless Kelly for the first time, and the next day, made his three-piece punk cover band learn the tunes.  After moving to Denton to pursue a Bachelor's degree, Bush started taking songwriting more seriously and began playing at a bar on Fry Street called "The Garage".  Three years later, with degree in hand, Bush has gathered a generous following stretching from back home in Ector, Texas all the way to Fort Worth.  With a little luck and dedication, he formed the Brandon Bush Band in the summer of 2007.  Its members are Micheal Burgess on bass and harmonica, Brad Haefner on lead guitar and other stringed instruments, and Shea Henley on drums.  The band has been nominated twice as a contestant on 95.3 The Range's Shiner Rising Star competition, and has a single out called "Mad Dog Mean".
Michael Burgess started playing guitar at 16 while growing up in the then wilderness of Arygle Texas. During his time in the Air Force, he was approached by some coworkers about playing bass in their rock cover band. He picked up the gig and has been playing bass ever since. Michael's influences are all over the place, but his favorites include Billy Joel, Chris Ledoux, and NOFX.
Brad Haefner began playing guitar at the age of 14 after being inspired by the riffs of Jimmy Page and David Gilmour. He performed regularly with several Blues/Rock groups during high school and recorded a full length album with the band Stone Attic. After his move to Arizona he continued to grow musically, performing and recording with a number of bands in Tucson including the award winning Tricky Luz (Tucson's Band of The Year 2000). In search of new ground, Brad put down the electric and moved to Indiana to study classical guitar at Indiana University. After graduation, new opportunities arose bringing Brad to Texas and to new musical genres.
Shea Henley, a 3rd generation musician, was hooked on music at the tender age of 2 when the conga player of his parents' band would "babysit" on the gig, offering handmade shakers in place of rattlers and other toys. After singing in choirs and playing the violin he took up percussion in the 6th grade. A year later, at age 12, he received his first drum set. After studying with the Atlanta area's finest teacher, Billy Degnats, his junior and senior years of high school, he moved to Denton, TX where he spent 5 years under the tutelage of the legendary Ed Soph at the University of North Texas. Now with degree in hand Shea is ready to take things to the next NEXT level.
